Not being a plant person, I can't tell you what it was. It was taller than me, maybe about 7 feet high, and busted out all over with little white blooms. I pointed my lens through it towards the sun behind and focused somewhere midway for many shots, and then did a standard focus-on-what's-right-in-front-of-me for many more shots.
I like how focusing midway into the shrubbery gave a disorienting, hall of mirrors look to some of the images.


Tech specs - I was renting the new Canon 100mm macro at the time, and had it at f/2.8.
There's a new canon macro? I had no idea! I'm so out of the loop. Both are lovely. I'm particularly fond of the bottom image..the warmth of it...really nice!
